Toro gas trimmer model #51932

Help, I can't figure out how to replace the line on this damn thing. The bump advance has a red knob on it that says off with an arrow pointing in one direction, I tried turning the knob and nothing, I even put a monkey wrench on it and just started stripping the nothches, then I grabbed the whole device and it unscrewed from the shaft. How in the hell do i re string this damn thing? was the whole bump advance supposed to come off to re string it, or is it supposed to disasemble?

Bet I know what's happening now.In your other post you didn't say that the knob would turn but would do nothing. If that is what it's doing, the inside part that holds the bolt is striped. All that you have to do is cut the knob from around the bolt and take the bolt out with a 1/2"wrench.Sorry I thought that I mentioned this also as another option in your last post.
