ryobi 700r weedeater carb adjustment

The manual gives no help on carb adjustment. There is a idle speed(not mixture) screw, and a white plastic screw on top, which has a red plastic piece which restricts the travel of the white screw. I suspect this is the only adjustment screw on the carb. Any advice?

What problem are you having?
Are you sure that the red plastic piece is not also a screw adjustment?
The plastic caps can be removed for further adjustment, however depending on the problem you are having, it may not be necessary.
The Ryobi operator manuals generally have good instructions on carb adjustment,

The .pdf's are not downloading at this time for some reason so I can not look at your particular manual, although my manual for 780r/790r gives very detailed instructions for adjusting both Walbro and Zama Carbs.

Hello laflaone!

The red and white plastic parts are caps over the high and low mixture screws. They can be removed to gain access to the screws. What is the problem that you are trying to correct?
