Carb Swapping??

Hello all,
I've recently aquired a JD STX38. It has a 12.5 Kohler Command. I've heard form a retired mechanic that the only difference between the 12.5 & the 14 is the carb. I thought, 'interesting'. Then today I was messing on the web & stumbled across this page.

quote: "BTW Lee, the only differance in the 12 hp and the 14 HP on that engine is the carb. Think it was like $35 when I needed a new carb to make mine a 14 hp."

Could any of you guys lead me in the right direction? Is this the carb cost or just certain parts in tha carb that will make the conversion?

Thanks,

Blue

p.s. - what are the image & link codes??

Hello Blue!

I have heard the same thing you have, but not verified it. I think it is true though. I don't know which parts would make the change.

Image and link codes are set by the forum administration...either to allow links and images or not.
