Yard Machine pull chord won't pull

I bought a walk behind mulching mower this spring. 4.5 horsepower B&S. The last time I used it I shut it off and then realized that I needed to cut an area I missed. Pulled on chord but it wouldn't budge. I thought okay hot night , vapor lock or something and put it away. Forgot about it and got mower out last evening to cut grass. Still unable to pull chord. Any ideas?

Either the brake cable isn't doing it's intended job or you've run the engine low on oil...hopefully the former, as a low oil problem spells $$$. How is the oil level? Post back and let us know.

Okay, oil wasn't entirely low, but added some. disconnected spark and turned blade. Reconnected spark and pulled chord, it started!!! Now we'll see if everything continues okay. Thanks.
