air Gap Timing on a Briggs&Stratton
Hi I'm new to the forum, but look's like a great place to get some answers for the DIY Guy.
I have a model 422707 twin cylinder, 18 H.P. vertical shaft engine that was gave to me, it's missing the Coil that i was able to buy on line and now that i have the coil i see that it is slotted which tell's me that it has an air gap that need's to be adjusted before tightening the coil down, can anyone tell me what the airgap setting on this Briggs&Stratton motor might be.
Thank's,
Johnny

From my Briggs book it says for all opposed twin engines the setting for the armature gap is as follows:
With Magnatron ignition the gap is set at .008-.012
But if you have points the gap is set at .010-.014
Hope this helps.
