front end play

i have a murray 12 hp rider. i had to replace the front axle because it broke but i still have a lot stering wheel play help thanks inadvance andy.

Hello andrew!

Steering wheel play, as in you can turn the wheel a good bit before the tires begin to turn? If so, then you'll probably need to replace the steering sector.

Cheese is right, but also look for sloppy tie rod ends as well as sloppy steering spindle bushings. The sector gear cheese mentioned is at the base of the steering shaft, where two gears mate up.
