Hello: Phil

May not be a magneto problem. Question is, what is the problem with the chainsaw? Describe it. Most likely be able to determine what the cause of the problem is, which may not even be related to the magneto.

If you are positive the magneto is in need of replacement and or testing, check the local phone book for small engine repairs shops in your area. Take the entire saw with you and have the ignition tested.

A failure to have spark ignition (likely reason to suspect a mag problem) at the spark plug may not be caused by the magneto. May be a grounded ignition cuased by the kill switch, bad ignition wire(s) defective spark plug, etc. Replacing a magneto that does not resolve a problem would be a waste of time and money.

Describe the problem in full details. Use the reply button to do so. The professionals in this forum topic may be able to help determine a more likely cause for any problem before you replace that magneto.

The wire wrapping on the magnetio has rusted and swelled, also the spark plug wire has broken off. I have checked all my local places and know one has any old parts. I'm hoping to have better luck here were there are people from accross the counrty.
