Craftsman ZT7000 trans fluid?
I have a Craftsman zero turn that for some reason has lost its transmission fluid. This is supposed to be a sealed system, so the type of fluid is not listed in the manuals. Does anyone know what type this is? Any help would be appreciated.

I am not familiar with craftsman zero turn...? If you post a model # I may be able to find some info. I know most situations I use SAE auto lubricants as opposed to Manufactures specific lubricants, but again I am not sure on your application.
If its a sealed unit how do you know it has lost its fluid? Has it leaked leaving evidence? Its possible there is another reason for your problem?, Which by the way you really didnt mention...

The ZT7000 is a good model number for Sears. I checked it out on their site and saw the transmissions (dual) that his unit has. The one drawback is that they just give a part number and not a make of it. eg. peerless
I know on some of the blowers that I've worked on that had sealed gearboxes, I had to use a special type of grease/oil made specifically for that type of gearbox. There might be a possibility this may apply here too.
Maybe he should get in touch with Sears service and find out the type of transmission he has for a little more info.
