murray ride on starting trouble

The other day i was mowing the lawn and shut the mower off to empty the bags when I tried to restart it, it didnt start. It makes no noise at all when i turn the key. So I jumped it with my neighbors lawn mower and it started right up. So figuring it was the battery, I bought a new battery installed it and it still is not starting. What do you guys think the problem could possibly be.
thanks for any responses in advance

Did you jump it by connecting the cables directly to your battery terminals and use the key? If so the only thing that comes to mind, (Assuming your new battery is fully charged, which "New" does not always = "Charged") is the inside or your battery cables may need cleaned.
If you jumped it using another method, let us know how, to let us know what may have been bypassed to allow it to start.
