I need a clue. I have a toro rear eng ride on mower. I have a good spark but after many pulls -- I STILL HAVE A DRY PLUG. The carb seems to get gas ok but no gas gets to the cylinder. The linkage looks ok and mower was running. The compression seems good to. Its got a float bowl carb. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.

Hello kevgug!

What make and model engine do you have? Is the carb bowl filling with fuel? Is the choke closing?

Remove the carb and clean it (especially the float needle valve in the float bowl). Make sure there is a fresh, uncontaminated fuel supply. Ensure there is good compression and it should fire up OK. A stuck valve is an easy fix, too.

Stuck valve??? He/she said compression seemed good. No need to disassemble the carb yet until it is verified that the choke is even closing first. If so, then yes, carb work would be the next step.
