iI have a 6hp tecumseh motor on a sears snowblower. It starts good but the choke has to stay fully open or the motor stalls.Any ideas how to keep it running with the choke shut off.

On the bottom of your carb bowl there should be a screw inside a brass looking nut. This is the High speed screw, so after running the motor for about 1 minute, turn this screw out approx 1/8 of a turn (counter clockwise) then try to fully open the choke. If it still won't run, turn it out another 1/8 of a turn. What you are doing when you do this is you are allowing more fuel to flow to the combustion chamber. This is called richening up. If doing this adjustment doesn't help then it will probably be time for a carb rebuild.
Also one other thing, do you use fuel stabilizer? if not....start using it, it gives todays gas a little longer shelf life, and it will work on any of your gas powered equipment.
