Exclamation MTD Snowblower

Have an early 1990's (we believe) MTD 2-stage snowblower 8-26. The only numbers we can find for model and serial number are 31O-586-I149b and under manufacturing date on same sticker reads I 149B. We need the auger belt length and width for this snowblower. Also drive belt length and width.

belt length

If you can't find the right belts with the #'s, take the old ones, even if broken, to an OPE dealer or auto parts store. Perhaps they'll be able to match them.
Hope this helps,

belts

When you're looking for belts that are not from the manufacturer make sure you specify fractional horsepower belt. Automotive belts are too soft and burn up fast.

Take a closer look at the model ID tag. The number you gave 310-586 does not show up on MTD look-up. The 586 is what does not show. There is a 588 which is a 1990 model year. Take a look and post back.

Based on shirtless' good research, the wheel drive part# is 954-0256, measuring 3/8" X 29.25" and the auger belt is part# 954-0282, measuring 1/2" X 38.5". I suggest finding an MTD service center locally and using genuine belts as these are fractional length belts.
