Shindiawa Leaf Blower (Engine Running Problem)

I have a leaf blower mod. 240. Just put in new rings, gasket set. and carb kit. It has good compression. The only way it will run is with full choke and then it starts to slobber and dies. I think it is sucking air from somewhere but can't tell where. Looking for any help!!!!

Why did you replace the rings? Since you replaced all the related gaskets, if you do have an air leak, it will be at the crank seals. This is very rare in a low impact engine. You mentioned you installed a carburetor kit. Did you soak the carburetor in a quality bath-type cleaner? Sounds to me as though this is what will be needed. Post back with answers to the two questions.
