Generally, Murray manufactures throwers for Sears. The model number you gave does not look typical of Sears numbering. Your model should start...536.XXXXXX or 247.XXXXXX. It will always be three digits then a period then six digits. A 536 series is Murray, a 247 series is MTD. Look for these and post back.

Thanks! I looked at the tag again & it is "C944 52950. At the bottom of the tag it says "Made in Canada". Will this make it different?? Thanks, (R)

Ahh! "Made in Canada" throws a wrench in the equation. These are very difficult for Stateside service centers to look up parts. One of two things you can do: 1- Wait for me to get ahold of my Canadian contact for a list of parts you need. OR 2- Go to your local Murray shop with parts in hand and, if they're nice enough, they'll match them up, if they have a knowledgeable parts counter person that is. If your choice is #1, give me a complete list of ALL needed/wanted parts and bear with me for a few days to get word to and fro.

Thanks puey61. I've been taking parts to the local guy & had good luck with that. I need the bearings on the auger shaft & the one to the rear of the impeller. I would like to have the parts in hand before I tear into it, because it always snows when the blower is broken, correct?? We kinda think maybe Gilson, Bolens, or Snapper Thanks for all the help! In my knowledge of Craftsman units and based on the "C944...", this should be a Murray. I'll contact my source in Canada and see what she comes up with. I'll let you know soon.

Sorry, my contact at Murray Canada says she has no info on this and that she believes it is an MTD product. I've researched my MTD info and came up empty. If you're in central New York any time, stop by my shop. I'll bet I have what you need.

make of blower

hi
It is a murray. I'm a sears tech in Canada.
If you want the bearings cheap you should not deal with Sears--bearing outlets can supply here for about a quarter of the price.

Hey Super

With his given model#, can you provide him with the part numbers for these bearings. He can then obtain them at a Murray dealer, he won't have to go through Sears necessarily.

Thanks very much, guys. The belt idler wheel sizes suggest a Bolens,Gilson or a Snapper by the measurments. The friction disc suggests a Ariens, Bolens, Gilson, Snapper & Murray as application by measurements. If I have to pick between MTD & Murray, maybe I'll take my chances on the Murray parts!! Gilson was a link between the two, but to be safe I'll call the # supertec posted!! Many thanks to the both of you & I'll tell you what I can find!!

Thanks, (R)
