Snapper Mower

Snapper Mower
I've got a Snapper self propelled (rear drive) walk behind mower, 6HP B&S engine, that I really liked. Last year it died, so I bought an inexpensive walk-behing mower (front wheel drive) from HD, with a 6.25HP engine, to get me through the summer. The new mower is OK, but I really miss my Snapper, with all its good features and stuff. I'd like to simply put the newer engine on the Snapper. Is that possible? The engines look nearly identical, as far as I can tell. Thoughts?

Hello Dhop!
If they are close in appearance, then they will probably interchange with little or no modification. The main thing to check is the length of the crankshaft.

Also, while the diameter of the crank should be the same (7/8"), check to be sure of this as well. The mounting will be the same. Your control cables may or may not be exact but should work from one to the other.
