Riding mower engine swap!

I have a MTD mower with a briggs 12hp engine 42inch cut..I also have a snapper with a 6hp briggs pull start engine..I love the way the snapper mows but my new yard requires more UMPH than the 6hp has to offer..How complicated would it be to swap these engines out?The 12hp is an electric start and the 6hp is a pull start..The main reason for the swap is that the snapper just plain makes the yard look better..But also the MTD has just been one problem after another for me!!

Thankyou for any help you may offer!

Brian

First do some careful measuring to see if there's room for the 12 horse. If it will fit, you'll have to drill new engine mount holes. the crankshafts will probably be different dia. and possibly different length.
Hope this helps but not discourage you,

Most likely the crankshaft diameters and lengths are the same, and there should be room except for one possibility....some snappers have short little rounded fenders that have to be cut off for a 12 horse to fit. The exhaust may have to be re-routed, and then of course you'll have to set up the electrical stuff to start it.
