Onan carb adjustment

I have an 18 horse Onan engine in my Deere. I need to adjust the Carb. I only see one adj. screw on the front of the carb. My problem is the engine will not idle on low throttle. It also does not have full power on high. thank you so much!! This forum is great, alot if good info

Sorry, I can't help you with the Onan. Cheese should log in late tonight or early tomorrow and perhaps he'll know.

Hello Frito!

I am not so familiar with Onans that I can picture the carb setup off the top of my head, but I don't recall ever seeing any adjustments other than a single air/fuel mixture screw on any of them. (except for the idle speed screw on the throttle lever). Turn the mixture screw in until it lightly seats, then back it out 1 1/2 to 2 turns. If it still doesn't run right, you probably need to disassemble and clean the carb.
