6hp tecumsa snowblower carb problem

I can start my 6hp snoblower tecumsa engine fine with a few pulls and choking carb. It runs ok for about 5 to 10 minutes then it will only run if I nearly put the choke on full, one notch open. It will continue like this until .It also seems to have trouble stating running, with choke on, whne under load it just quits. unit is about 25 years old. tried rebuilding carb, but problem still happens with running with choke on only. Any Help? .

Try leaving the gas tank cap loose and run it to see what happens.

Hello Mike7777!

If backing the screw out under the bowl doesn't improve the situation, then the carb needs a good cleaning. I would reccomend using a bath type carb cleaner.
