Oil, is oil, is oil?

I have some slippery questions.
Is SAE30 oil the same for cars and lawnmowers?
Can I use chainsaw bar oil on electric hedge trimmers and bicycle chains?
Thank you.

Could be the car wants 10 - 30 and 5- 30 like. The lawnmore my pressure pump and generator want like just #30 oil. Id say yes you can use the barr oil for the other things. But I just use #10 oil for it .

Hello Safetytube!

Yes, the oil labelled for lawnmowers is the same as regular 30wt oil. The lawnmower companies don't make their oil, they just get it from someone else and have it bottled with their name on it.

Bar oil can be used on the things mentioned with no harm.
