troy built oil seal

2001 troy built pony tiller. The oil seal on the tine shaft is leaking. This happened last year also and I replaced it.There doesn"t seem to be any play in the shaft. It is the same side that leaks.Could there be something else that needs replaceing?

sometimes you get a piece of thread or mono-line wrapped up causing a leak. Might have a score or crack in the housing around the seal. The best cure I have found for these is to drain them and fill them with grease. Works much better and no leaks at all. I usually drill and tap a hole and put a grease nipple in it.
