mower won't move

I bought a used wheel horse riding mower.It didn't run I replaced the starter solenoid and now it runs great.But now it won't go into gear it is a 210-5 model 5 speed standard transmission linkage moves when you shift it but the mower does not move.Can anyone please help me my wife is pissed and I can't afford to buy a new one!Thank's for your help

belt

The top belt that mounts above the rearend is attached but it does have some loosness to it.

Look at the transmission pulley to see if it's turning when it's in gear. If not, the belt is too loose. If so, check the axle keys. If you has a wheel off recently, a key may have fallen out (unless this has bolt on wheels).
