Help! tines wont engage on tiller

I have a 5.5 hp craftsman front tiller...was working great now the tines wont engage. The cable appears fine and does pull the lever. Where do i start?

tiller

you start by checking the belt--is it still there--does it turn when you engage the lever? If so you check the driven pulley and ensure it is turning the shaft it is on. If the shaft is turning then you go to the shear pins on the tines and if they are in place you will probably have internal gear box problems. I think its a chain drive inside and many times the master links have come apart.
