Bolens Briggs 18hp no spark

I'm working on an Bolens ST180, Briggs opposed twin. When I turn the key I get no spark until I let off the key then I see one spark. I tried swapping a known good coil but that didn't help. Any ideas?

Thank you!!

Update......

I just tried disconnecting the ground wire from the coil and found that the engine will not crank at all with it disconnected. ??

Any ideas?

Oh boy, I'm guessing the ignition switch was just changed, right? It soure sounds like the wrong one was installed, and the new one is using the coil for it's ground. Not good, and it may have just ruined the new coil if this is the case. Hopefully not.
