homelite shaft turns slowly

I have a two year old homelite zr20760 gas trimmer with a weed warrior blade attachment. I was working with it this AM when the weed warior head flew off when I hit a fence. Put it back together but when I start it up the shaft turn slowly and does not have enough torque to cut anything.
Any help appreciated. This happened once before but it self corrected agfter a minute or two.

bceagle57,

It sounds as if the clutch is shot or it has striped the connection of the cable shaft that mates with the engine. You can disassemble and take a peak at the engine/shaft connection. If the cable is secure in it's mounting then you most certainly have a clutch falure.

God Bless!
