Trouble Starting Lawnmower

Hi,

I have a 5 hp Yardman by MTD push lawnmower. The model # is 116-106C401. The serial # is 1F266k30565.

I have resurrected this mower after the prior owner hit something and broke the blade arbor key and knocked it out of time. I replaced the flywheel key and got it back together and it started up promptly and sounded great.

I was able to mow about 25% of my yard with it until it just simply died. It didn't cough, sputter or anything.

I wasn't able to start it again after a number of tries -- I can prime it with the priming bulb and it will fire up and then die immediately.

I would appreciate any information you could give me on how to approach this problem.

Thanks.

Joe

Hello Joe!

Sounds like you have water and/or trash in the carburetor. Pull the bowl off and see what you find.
