pressure washer performance

I started my washer for the first time in a year and noticed that the engine speed did not lower when I release the trigger. It sounds as though it continues to run at full power. Could the unloader valve be causing this? In any event, I am looking for suggestions.

Sounds like a gummy carburetor situation whereas the throttle shaft is stuck from varnish build-up. Removal, disassembly and cleaning of the carb is in order, if so. To check for such, take a hold of the throttle link near where it atteches to the carb, see if you can move it freely.

Problem Resolved

I had a significant leak at the pressure line due to a failed "O" ring. After replacing that, it runs as usual. I suppose as the result of the leak the washer didn't "know" I had released the trigger. Anyhow, it's fine now.

Thanks for your suggestion. Roy
