B and S Dies upon acceleration

I've got a 5 hp Briggs and Stratton engine on a little beaver hole auger. Today it started dying as soon as I squeezed the throttle leaver to spin the auger. I have replaced the spark plug and that wasn't it. The air cleaner needs replacing, but the engine behaves the same way without the air cleaner, so I don't think it's an air cleaner issue. I removed the tube from the bottom of the fuel shutoff (downstream of the fuel screen at the bottom of the tank) and the was fuel flow to that point.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!

rdhallor,

Check your fuel filter. If it's clean and clear, the place to look will be your carb. Remove it, thoroughly clean; replace any worn parts and reasimble. This should get you back up and running.

God Bless,
