echo chain saw problem

i have an echol chain saw...just a small saw about a 15 inch bar or so...

when i crank it and attempt to cut something, it dies...when i pull the trigger and give it a lot of gas to cut a limb or something, it dies...so, i have to pull the choke out about half way...it then works, but not well..

any ideas???

thanks...

Hello hobbs_m!

The saw is not getting enough fuel. Look near the carburetor, around the air filter. There should be 2 holes marked H and L. Use a small screwdriver and back the screw in the H hole out about 1/4 turn or so and see how it does.
