Briggs Intek 7hp Hard Restart @[email protected]#!

I have tried everything I know of short of a rejet (altitude 3800').

My Briggs if damn hard to restart after hot / warmed up / worked hard. Starts like a champ when cold.

Anybody done a rejet and helped?

Have tried the follwing and no luck. Plug, Plug gap, valv adj. dif octane fuels, insulating kill wire, insulating spark wire, armature gap.

Help.

How is the oil level and condition...? Air filter...? The old plug...?
3800' is by no means high altitude and should not require any rejeting I am aware of.

I am now leanig towards the possibility of vapor lock.

How would I check out vapor lock and is there anything I could insulate against heat (tank, carb, etc.).

Most vapor lock occurrs because of a restricted fuel cap vent. Try loosening the fuel cap and see if it starts more easily when hot. I also don't think the altitude is the problem.
