Snowblower Help Needed 5 hr. Tecumseh

I cant get any "spark" out of my Tecumseh 5 horse engine. Anybody have any ideas as to where I should start? I removed the plug then I reinserted into the plug wire. No spark when I pull the starting cord. Help!

If it's old enough to have points then you likely need to replace such as well as the condensor. If not that old then check for any bare spots in the ground (kill) wire as it is rare for these ignition coils to fail...but they do on ocassion. Post back with your engines' ID numbers and we'll be better able to help you.

under the flywheel, flywheel will have to come off of course. just get new points via a online source or a small engine shop, make sure you have all your info on the engine to give em to get the right parts. also you'll need a puller to safely remove the flywheel.

Engine ID numbers please, first and I'll let you know if you, in fact, have points.

Are you making sure that the spark plug is touching a metal part of the engine when you check for spark? If it isn't, then it won't spark.
