Sears string trimmer

Does anyone know of a way to test an ignition coil on a Craftsman Weed Wacker 17"/25 cc. I can't get any fire even with my kill switch disconnected. Approximately what readings should I get with an ohmmeter.

No spark with kill wire disconnected = Bad coil. It seems like the resistance values of these coils varies widely, so I don't check them that way. Don't know what the values should be, if there are any specified by the mfgr.

To the best of my knowledge, as well, there are no Ohms figures for these coils. With kill wire disconnected and correct air gap (.010") to the flywheel and you have no spark - replace the coil!
