JD 265 carb pouring out gas

JD 265 carb pouring out gas

I really need help on this, its very unsafe. Its a john deere 265 with a 17hp kawasaki engin, built around 1991. There is a small hose at the top of the carb that is about 4 in long and while its running gas is Spraying out down the hot engine. The engine runs fine, Im just glad the exaust is on the other side. Why is it doing this and how do I stop it?

Make sure the float isn't full of gas, and isn't sticking. That and the inlet needle is seating and seat is good and seated.

I will pull the bowl off as soon as I get the chance, it did seem to run a little rich but it always did.

Briggs & Stratton are falling apart

Hi! I bought used this Craftsman 3.5 HP side port mower that has a Briggs & Stratton 3.5 Faststart motor. Used 2 seasons and now the thing dropped a bolt that held the carbueretor/fuel assembly to the sheet metal piece that fastens on the front of the mower at the throttle attachment. This is GONE :eek: . This permitted the bolt that holds the whole assembly on the side of the block to work loose and the assembly to come off most of the way. I put it back on and tightened fairly tight and put a nylon tie thru the front thing. Now the nylon cut through, the bolt loosened again and now the spacer for that is also GONE :wall: I looked for Sears part numbers but found a brick wall. The motor they showed with my model # did not even look anything like what I had. Tried Briggs & Stratton web site but got fed up. :madhell: Found you through Google and now looking for answers on where to get and specs for bolts (and I presume lock washers), a new spacer or dimensions to cut my own from a piece of pipe. Fuel Line Problem

I Have An Idc 540 Supreme Weed Trimmer. I Discovered That All The Fuel Lines Had Dry Rotted And Broken Off. I Have Cleaned All The Connections Up And Replaced The Primer Bulb And Purchased New Fuel Lines As Well, But I Need Help In Knowing What Lines Hook Up Where. Since They Were All Broken Apart, I Was Not Able To Follow The Paths. I Have Two Connections From The Carb, Two From The Primer Bulb And Two To The Engine Or Fuel Tank.
