Used mower price...

My parents are looking at buying a used mower from a neighbor and wondering how the price sounds, it is an Ariens, self propelled mower with a 21" in deck, 6hp Tecumseh (?) engine, swivel caster wheels, mulch and rear bagger. It was new in the fall of 1998 and he's asking $200 for it. It is clean and was regularily serviced. Is that a good price, too much?
I've checked the web for a free used mower pricing guide but haven't found one yet. I checked the price of the mower new today and it's ~$675.
Thanks

Sounds reasonable. If the asking price is $200, you can probably pick it up for $175, maybe even $150. Generally, a used mower in nice condition, well maintained, and in good working order should run around half the original price. Adjustments + or - would be made accordingly for age, appearance, condition, etc...

Thanks

It was used on a postage stamp sized yard and the guy is meticulous about caring for things so It'll have many more years left than a comparably priced new one.
