Need some advice [roto tiller]

I've just gotten a old rotor tiller in with a B & S engine...m-100202, t-0145-01, c-6810217. The engine is in need of an ignition coil. What I wanted to know, can't I replace the coil (with breaker points) with a newer CDI coil. What would be involved in the change over. I've been told that they will work much better than the old way. What are some things I should look-out for?

Yes, you can, and I usually reccomend it. Just clip the wire to the points off under the flywheel and leave the points there if you want. Install the new coil like you would any coil, and connect the kill wire to the coil. Done deal, no special things to watch out for.
