Kohler 14 hp won't start when hot

I am new to this forum, It has alot of great information.

I have a Cub Cadet with a 14hp Kohler that starts fine when cold but if you turn it off after 1 hour of mowing and try to start it back up after setting for a few minutes it wont.

But let it set overnight and it starts right up.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should be checking to fix this problem.

I changed the fuel filter and the plugs look fine.

any help would be appreciated.

Try loosening the gas cap the next time it stalls when hot. Especially if its the rear mounted tank.
If not the fuel cap, could be the fuel pump is getting weak.

The OP said it wouldn't start after being shut off,not that it was stalling. Sounds like the coil is breaking down due to heat.Only a guess on my part.I leave it to smarter heads.

Still does not sound like an electrical problem. Easy enuff to confirm tho, when the mower is in a "No start" condition, check for spark. If you have spark then its prolly a fuel issue and being intermitten I would start with the fuel pump.
