Craftsman lawn tractor clutch

The other day when trying to start the tractor I depressed the starting clutch and the engine fired up and ran great , but as I release the clutch ( It should now just idle until I depress the forward or reverse pedals on the other side) --it stalls . I took off the access cover and the right rear tire and checked out the clutch assembly and things seem to move and return to original position as the clutch is pressed and released .Does anyone know what might be the problem ?

It's most likely the seat switch. Try strapping the connector tight to the switch.
