homelite trimmer spitting fuel

I have a homelite string trimmer, runs fine, but is blowing fuel through the hole in tank that the hose from the primer bulb runs through. I pulled off the hose from the primer bulb to isolate where the blowby was originating, and still am getting fuel blowing out of the tank through this hole when the engine is running. If this keeps up, I won't need to weed eat, since the grass will be dead from the fuel leakage. Any thoughts?

Sounds like the fuel line needs to be replaced. They fit snugly in the tank and should seal the hole, but when they get hard, they lose that pressure against the seal and leak.
