back pressure

I have a 11 hp honda with a cat 3000psi pump. I just aquired this from my father-in-law. It was not building up pressure. So I started with a new hose and wand because it was old stuff and it leaked. Now it works great as far as pressure but when you release the trigger it creats back pressure and kills the motor. Is there some type of release for the pressure or what. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks Brandon

Is there a manual pressure regulator?
Try the forum search for "unloader valve".

Azis got it...the unloader valve is probably the culprit!
