I have a 8hp h shaft Tecumseh I think its a hmsk something. Anyway while pulling the muffler off I broke the bolts holing it on. I have tried everything short of tapping them then I noticed the exhaust port is threaded. Will a 3/4 inch male pipe muffer fit
this ?

Yes, a screw-in muffler will fit.

yup the good old b&s 3/4 pipe muffler fits just fine seems to run good after some tweeking of the carb only worry I have is the paint burnt right off the new muffler. When I got the muffler the package was open think they painted gray to make it look new ?
Looked at it close and there was no dents of sign of burning on it before I put it on.

That is the standard Briggs muffler...painted gray. And, yes, the paint will surely burn off. Don't know why they don't get with the times and make them aluminized to prevent rotting.
