tecumseh oil leak

i have a tecumseh motor on a craftsman mower that blows gas and or oil out the muffler. i have found that there is oil being blown thru a hose into the air filter compartment, thru the carb, cumbustion chamber and out the muffler as a gas/oil mixture. i have read of the possibility that a breather hole is clogged and not allowing oil to return to crankcase. is this true and where do i find the clogged hole. any suggestions?

Chances are, if you'll look at the oil level, it's too full and/or thinned with gas. Smell the oil for a gassy smell. If so, you need to fix the leak in the carb.

Tom, did you solve your trouble. In other words, did you recondition the carburetor?

Great! Glad you got it fixed and thanks for the update. That gas-thinned oil finds a way out of an engine when regular oil stays put.
