putting gas in the engine oil tank

my friend put gas in the engine oil tank and use it then the engine stop and smokes comes out. need help! what should i do?

Drain the oil res and refill with 30 SAE oil and see what happens...? It will depend on the shape prior to this of the engine and just how long it was ran. It is possible that only minimal damage was done and its still usable.
It could largely depend on WHAT engine on WHAT equipment also....???

it's a lawnmower but have no idea what engine. what damage will it do to my lawnmower if ever and what should i do?

Drain the oil resevoir, Fill with Sae 30 motor oil. It depends on how long the motor was ran without oil to estimate how much damage was done.
