Tecumseh 8.5hp starting problems

Hi.

I'm having problem starting my engine... Always takes time... I have to pull for like a 10 min to get her started... When it's hot I only have to pull like 5 till 10 times... but to much!

I have spark... I'm not sure I have the right spark plug?
I'm sure the ignition timing is right.. Allready checked that.

The engine misfires sometimes and knocks even... runs unevenly.

What's the original spark plug for this engine ?
Carburetor.... I need some good advises for adjusting Carburetor...Some screws I've clean it so I think it's good...

Cheers

Sounds like it could be low compression, maybe in need of a valve adjustment. Have you checked valve clearances? I believe it takes a J19LM champion plug. I would hold off the carb adjustments until the valve clearances are verified to be within specs.
