Honda ex650 generator only runs on full choke

Even after it warms up my honda ex650 portable generator cuts off if I turn the switch to disengage the choke. Will only run with it on full choke.
The linkage seems to be working properly, is there a carb adjustment that can be made that may remedy the problem. Any ideas?
thanks, mike

That generally means you have a restriction in the carb. Probably rust or junk in it. You'll need to remove and clean out the carburetor.

Thanks

Carb restriction sounds right. It has been sitting unused for a couple of years. Thanks much.

By the way, you will likely not find a single fuel adjusting screw on this engine as all Honda engines that I've ever serviced are fixed jet carburetors. The only screw for any adjustment will be the idle RPM screw.
