toro snowblower won't stay running

i just picked up a used Toro CCR2000 single stage snowblower. it has a 4.5 horse 2 cycle Suzuki engine. i put in new gas with the correct amount of 2 cycle oil, and a new properly gapped spark plug.
after priming, it starts on about the second pull, and runs real strong as long as i leave the choke lever out. half choke or no choke, and it dies in around 10 seconds.
i pulled the jet and cleaned it with gumout. i let it run choked until it warmed up. i even gave a few quick shots of gumout to the carb air intake while it was running.
someone suggested seafoam (i thought that was candy), so i added close to 2 ounces of that to the gas.
i've tried adjusting the idle speed, and the other screw on the carb, but after no improvement, put them back where they were. the gas tank outlet is higher than the carb, so i'm guessing just a gravity feed.
suggestions?

Sounds like the carb needs to be pulled, disassembled, and soaked in a bath type carb cleaner. There is a restriction in it.
