Toro 826 snowblower transmission adjustment

I just bought this snowthrower made in 1986 and I cannot figure out how to adjust transmission. First gear does not work, second and third are OK and Reverse is slow and shaky... The idler wheel look quite used but as it won't slip when in 2nd an 3rd gear, I figure only an adjustment is needed.

Can anyone advice me as to what to do to adjust the transmission short of changing the wheel?

Thank you

We need your actual model and serial numbers, which will be on a plate at the rear of the frame. The 826 is simply a series not a model specific enough to your machine.

Model and serial number

Thanks for answering. The model number is 38150 and the serial is 6000758.

Any help or advice as to how to adjust the wheel or to replace it if it should be replaced is welcome.
