Briggs 12 h.p wiring

have a briggs 12 model 281707 041101 90010531 there are two wires coming out from under cowling,I assume these are electronic ign. wires, one is
black, the other is a dull white or gray with a tiny diode looking thing on it
it may just be a teeny fusible link I don't know,I am guessing that the black is
a ground and the white is "hot"...any direction where to hook them up on an
older snapper rer? thank's....

If these wires are coming from the same spot (right above the starter), they are charging wires. The kill wire for the ignition is a black single wire coming from the shield around the cylinder. The wire with the diode is the charge wire, and should be connected to the battery positive post at the solenoid (on later model snappers), start button (older model snappers), or battery. The one next to it is a lighting wire....unneeded on a snapper RER.
