Honda generator will not start

Hi

Need some good advice.

I have a new 13 hp Honda generator. My son-in-law started it for the first time last week and it started the first pull. It ran for about 10 minutes then died. It will not start since.
The oil level is fine ,,,,

It has compression and some spark, but nothing - even when using the caned starting fluid both in the spark plug hole and through the air filter.

I'm thinking maybe the spark is not strong enough to run it - I would have though any small spark would kick the starting fluid a few times.

any ideas?

thanks
Lou

Are you checking the oil level without screwing the dipstick in? It has a low-oil safety that could be keeping it from starting. Have you tried a new plug? You say this is new...Thought about warranty?
