Looking for an obsolete MTD part

Hi
I've got a buddy that's looking for a gear from an older MTD snowblower transmission. I've tried most of the places online and in my city and no luck, it's no longer available. The number is originally 748-0224 but it changes up to 948-0224. If anyone knows of a link that I could check out that would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply, I guess I'll have to give it a try.

I see this is a differential spur gear. Sorry, I don't have this but i'll check with my contacts/suppliers and see if any of them have it. I'll let you know in a few days at most how I make out.

I've checked with three distributors - two in New York and one in Mass. - with no luck. I recommend going on the MTD website and getting numerous dealer phone numbers with their "dealer search" and checking with them for such part you need.
