2004 craftsman LT2000 rear axle fluid change?

I have a Craftsman rider that I would like to change the fluid on, but I cannot seem to locate a drain/fill plug. I figure before I rip the axle out and disconnect everything, I would ask if there is an easy way.

manual 'trans'

thank you for any help!

Most likely it is intended to be a maintenance free unit. The only access if any at all, maybe a vent. Even if you were to get it drained, finding the correct amount and or way to check proper level, would be an accomplishment.
This is definitely one those "If it aint broke, don't fix it"

The hydrostatic transmissions are sealed units (and the manual states as such). No service is required or possible.

You noted it was a manual tranny and with such, it will be a Bentonite grease, not an oil. You will never need to worry about this disipating. Perhaps 25 years down the road, if it lasts that long, you'll want to consider disassembling the tranny and changing it out.

Oops, I missed that part about it being a manual, but year, unless you see grease oozing out they are 'lifetime lubrication'.

I doubt it will be alive that long. The motor, which has always been on the noisy side, is already puffing at me. Im probably going to have to put a motor in it at the end of this season. Im glad they have come down in price since last year
