problem with B&S log splitter engine, Honda?

Hey Guys,

I've got a MTD log splitter with a 5.5 190cc Briggs and [email protected]$% engine that has been giving me starting problems over the last 4-5 years. I've replaced carbs, plugs, numerous pull cords(out of frustration) and I think it's time for a Honda. I believe the standard shaft dia. on these engines is 7/8" and the length is 3- 5/32. My question is, are the motor mounting holes on the B&S and the honda the same? or do I need to drill out new ones.

Thanks, JB
